President Bola Tinubu has called on newly elected national officers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to lead with humility, fairness, and unwavering dedication to the party’s principles. He gave this charge in Abuja during the party’s National Convention, where members gathered to elect officials into the National Working Committee (NWC).
Speaking on the convention’s theme, “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Tinubu emphasized that unity remains the cornerstone of sustainable political advancement. According to him, meaningful progress cannot be achieved without a united front, urging party members to remain cohesive in pursuit of shared goals.
Addressing those elected into leadership positions, the president stressed that the future of both the APC and Nigeria’s democracy rests on their shoulders. He encouraged them to demonstrate courage, integrity, and vision in their leadership roles, noting that Nigerians expect transparency and accountability from those entrusted with power.

Tinubu also highlighted the party’s recent growth, pointing to an influx of new members, including governors and lawmakers from opposition parties. He described this trend as a testament to the APC’s strengthening influence and the confidence Nigerians have in its ideals.
To sustain this momentum, he tasked party leaders with maintaining a credible and verifiable membership database, which he said is crucial for effective administration and long-term planning. He also commended the convention’s planning committee, led by Aminu Bello Masari and Anyim Pius Anyim, for their organizational excellence.
The president further acknowledged the vital role of women in the party’s development, promising increased inclusion in leadership and governance. He noted that empowering women would strengthen the party’s resilience and democratic credentials.
