Super Eagles captain William Ekong has emphasised the team’s determination to secure all three points in Friday’s World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali.
Speaking to the media unit of the Nigeria Football Federation , Ekong dismissed concerns about Nigeria’s historical struggles against Rwanda on their home soil, insisting that the team is focused on the present challenge.
Ekong stressed that the team is not weighed down by past results but is firmly committed to securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He made it clear that the team’s priority is qualification, not past records.
The Super Eagles, three-time African champions, are eager to break their winless streak against Rwanda away from home going back to 20 years ago.
