Senator Akpabio Pledges Akwa Ibom’s Support for President Tinubu

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Akwa Ibom State’s unwavering support in advancing the nation’s progress.

Leading a high-powered delegation of stakeholders from the state to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Senator Akpabio reaffirmed the commitment of Akwa Ibom’s political leadership to national development and unity.

The delegation included Governor Umo Eno, his deputy Senator Akon Eyakenyi, former Governor Udom Emmanuel, traditional rulers, and other key figures. Accompanying them was Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, wife of the Senate President.

Tinubu Honored with Akwa Ibom’s Highest Traditional Title

As part of the visit, the Akwa Ibom State Council of Traditional Rulers conferred President Tinubu with the highest traditional title in the state, “Otuekong” (Commander-in-Chief of Akwa Ibom State).

The honor was bestowed by the President General of the Supreme Council of Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, Nteyin Solomon Etuk (Oku Ibom Ibibio III), in recognition of Tinubu’s leadership and contributions to national unity.

Speaking at the event, Senator Akpabio commended Governor Eno for fostering peace, reconciliation, and political harmony in Akwa Ibom, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration among leaders for the state’s progress.

President Tinubu Commends Akwa Ibom’s Development Efforts

In his response, President Tinubu attributed Akwa Ibom’s progress to a clear vision and commitment to development, praising Governor Eno’s selfless leadership and focus on service delivery.

He acknowledged the state’s aspirations for projects like the Ibom Deep Sea Port, emphasizing the need for federal-state partnerships in infrastructure development. The President also commended the Governor’s broad-minded governance approach, urging other leaders to emulate his dedication to service and people-centered leadership.

Governor Eno Pledges Cooperation with the Federal Government

Governor Umo Eno presented a scorecard of his administration’s achievements, reaffirming Akwa Ibom’s readiness to collaborate with the Federal Government on key infrastructure projects and interventions in ecological challenges.

He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu for their support during his family’s recent bereavement, further highlighting the cordial relationship between Akwa Ibom State and the Federal Government.

The visit reaffirmed Akwa Ibom’s strong commitment to national unity and governance, with leaders from different political backgrounds coming together for the collective good of the state and the country.
