In a major win against criminal elements, the Nigeria Police Force has successfully rescued 17 kidnapped victims and recovered 21 fabricated AK-47 rifles during separate operations in Kaduna State.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, these operations—carried out on April 9th—are part of the Inspector-General of Police’s broader mission to strengthen security and ensure a safer Nigeria.
The victims, including women and children, were reportedly abducted over a month ago from Sarkin Pawa in Niger State. Thanks to a combination of intelligence-led and non-violent strategies, they were rescued without a single shot being fired. This non-kinetic approach highlights the police’s evolving tactics in addressing insecurity across the country.
In a related breakthrough, police operatives intercepted a commercial vehicle at Kawo Motor Park in Kaduna, where they discovered 21 fabricated AK-47 rifles cleverly concealed inside. The driver, identified as Jamilu Suleiman, has since been arrested and is said to be cooperating with investigators.
Additionally, three armed robbers were neutralized during separate security operations in the state, further affirming the police’s commitment to fighting crime head-on.
The Nigeria Police Force has reiterated its dedication to ongoing operations aimed at curbing criminal activities and safeguarding citizens nationwide
