A joint security operation by the Nasarawa State Police Command, the Nigerian Army, and local vigilantes has led to the neutralization of a wanted kidnapper, Abdullahi, also known as “Honor,” in Akwanga.

The operation took place on March 14, 2025, near the Akwanga Central Mosque, where the suspect attempted to evade arrest but was fatally shot.
Security operatives recovered a Beretta pistol and twelve rounds of 9mm live ammunition. An accomplice escaped with gunshot wounds, and a manhunt is underway.
Commissioner of Police CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed commended the operatives and warned criminals to desist from illegal activities or face consequences. The police urged residents to support security efforts by providing useful information.
