Jose Mourinho has filed a lawsuit against Galatasaray after the club accused him of making racist statements.
The Fenerbahçe manager was accused by Galatasaray following Monday’s Istanbul derby. On Tuesday, the Portuguese coach’s Turkish club released a statement clarifying that his comments had been completely taken out of context.
Mourinho was later banned for four matches and fined over 35, 000 pounds by the Turkish Football Federation for two separate disciplinary issues.
On Friday, Fenerbahçe confirmed that Mourinho was pursuing legal action through the club’s lawyers, filing a lawsuit against Galatasaray for attacking the personal rights of the Portuguese coach.
