Jack Draper pulled off a stunning upset at the 2025 Indian Wells, defeating two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz 6-1, 0-6, 6-4 in the semifinals on Saturday. With this victory, the 13th-seeded Brit secured his spot in the tournament final.
Draper will now face 12th-seeded Holger Rune, who defeated fifth-seeded Daniil Medvedev 7-6, 6-4 in the first semifinal, marking his 150th career tour-level win.
The loss ended Alcaraz’s dominant 16-match winning streak at the prestigious ATP Masters 1000 event. A victory would have made the second-seeded Spaniard the youngest player to claim three consecutive titles at any ATP Tour event and only the third to achieve the feat at Indian Wells.
Draper and Rune will battle for the championship on Sunday in what promises to be an electrifying final.
