IGP Egbetokun Orders Posting of 25 Senior Police Officers in Major Reorganization

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed the posting of 25 senior officers as part of a major reorganization aimed at strengthening the Nigeria Police Force.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the reshuffle includes the deployment of seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and eighteen Commissioners of Police (CPs) to key strategic positions across the country.

Among the newly assigned AIGs, AIG Margaret Ochalla has been posted to the AIG FCID Annex in Lagos, while AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo will now oversee AIG Zone 13, Ukpo. Additionally, CP Olatunji Disu has been appointed to lead the AIG Special Police Unit (SPU) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

IGP Egbetokun has urged the officers to approach their new roles with dedication and professionalism. He also emphasized their active participation in ongoing police reforms to enhance security and improve service delivery.

This reorganization forms part of the IGP’s broader strategy to reposition the police force for improved efficiency and a more effective security framework across Nigeria.
