Governor Sule Calls on Engineers to Drive Sustainable Development in Nasarawa

Governor Abdullahi Sule has reaffirmed the crucial role of engineers in fostering sustainable development in Nasarawa State. Speaking at an event in Lafia to commemorate World Engineering Day, he highlighted the state’s vast potential and urged engineers to remain actively engaged in their profession, emphasizing that true engineering lies in practical application.

World Engineering Day, observed annually on March 4th, recognizes engineers’ contributions to sustainable development. This year’s theme, “Shaping a Sustainable Future Through Engineering,” underscored the profession’s impact on economic growth and innovation.

Governor Sule, himself an engineer, reiterated his administration’s commitment to advancing engineering excellence in the state. He stressed the importance of innovation and technical expertise in addressing societal challenges and driving progress.

Representing the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Margaret Oguntala, along with the keynote speaker, highlighted critical areas where engineers significantly contribute to sustainable development, including infrastructure, technology, and environmental solutions.

The event also featured exhibitions showcasing engineering innovations, further emphasizing the profession’s role in shaping a sustainable future for Nasarawa State and beyond.
