Atlético Will Not Sell Julián Álvarez, Says Simeone

Atlético Madrid have reiterated their determination to keep Argentine forward Julián Álvarez despite continued interest from major European clubs.
The club’s position has been strengthened by statements from its leadership and coaching staff indicating that Álvarez remains a central part of Atlético’s plans and is not available for transfer.
The Argentine striker has attracted significant interest since joining Atlético from Manchester City. His performances have made him one of the club’s most valuable players, while his age and experience at the highest level have increased his appeal to other European teams.
Atlético’s management has repeatedly rejected suggestions that the forward could be sold. Earlier in the year, sporting director Mateu Alemany stated that there were no plans to sell Álvarez and confirmed that the club regarded him as an important part of its squad.
The club’s determination has reportedly remained firm despite approaches and speculation surrounding the player’s future. Atlético officials have made it clear that they regard the striker as a key component of their sporting project.

Álvarez’s importance to the team extends beyond his goalscoring ability. His movement, work rate and versatility allow him to operate in different attacking positions, making him particularly valuable to manager Diego Simeone’s tactical system.
The player has also become an important figure for Argentina, having established himself as a regular member of the national team and competed at the highest level of international football.
Reports of interest from other major clubs have continued to fuel speculation, but Atlético’s stance suggests that any potential departure would require a significant change in circumstances.
For Atlético, retaining Álvarez is part of the club’s ambition to remain competitive in Spain and Europe. The club is seeking to build a squad capable of challenging for major trophies rather than losing key players whenever bigger clubs show interest.
The forward’s future is therefore expected to remain a subject of discussion during the transfer window, particularly if further offers emerge.
For now, Atlético’s message is clear: Álvarez remains part of the club’s plans. With the player under contract and the club unwilling to negotiate his departure, interested teams may face a difficult task if they attempt to secure his services.
