Fomer Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal spent the weekend engaging in a series of activities that reflected his enduring commitment to friendship, compassion, and community development.
On Saturday, September 28, 2025, the former governor of Sokoto State attended the wedding Fatiha of Alhaji Nasiru Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Sule Lamido, and Lubabatu Garba Muhammad. The ceremony was held at the palace of the District Head of Maradun, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Tambari, in Zamfara State.
The marriage was contracted after the payment of a bride price of ₦500,000 and attracted dignitaries from across Nigeria, including political leaders, traditional rulers, and associates of the families. He also visited the Chief Imam of Shehu Jumu’at Mosque, Liman Abubakar Shehu Na Liman, to commiserate with him over the death of his stepmother.
Prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased, with the Senator urging the bereaved families to find comfort in the legacies of service and faith left behind by their loved ones.
Continuing his engagements, Senator Tambuwal visited Tureta Local Government Area to sympathize with residents over the persistent security challenges affecting the community. He reassured them of his solidarity, called for resilience, and presented relief materials and food supplies to affected families to help ease their hardship.
He concluded his visit by praying for lasting peace and security to return to Tureta, Sokoto State, and the country at large.
Tambuwal’s activities over the weekend underscored his role as a bridge builder — celebrating with friends in times of joy, standing with families in times of grief, and supporting communities facing adversity.
