A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State has commended security agencies and the Federal Government for the successful rescue of residents of Kwara State who were abducted during attacks on communities in Kaiama Local Government Area earlier this year.
In a statement, the party stalwart described the victims’ return as a welcome development that has brought relief to their families and communities after months of uncertainty. He noted that the rescue demonstrates the importance of sustained security operations and cooperation among security agencies in tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes.
The ADC leader praised the courage and professionalism of the security personnel involved in the operation, stating that their commitment contributed significantly to the safe recovery of the victims. He also acknowledged the support of community leaders, traditional rulers and local volunteers who assisted authorities during the rescue efforts.
While celebrating the development, he expressed sympathy for families that suffered losses during the attacks, urging governments at all levels to provide humanitarian assistance and rehabilitation for affected communities. According to him, many victims will require medical care, psychological support and economic assistance to rebuild their lives.
He further called for increased security presence in vulnerable communities across Kwara, Kogi and neighbouring states to prevent future attacks. He stressed the need for improved intelligence gathering, modern security equipment and stronger collaboration between security agencies and local residents.

He also appealed to the Federal Government to sustain ongoing efforts aimed at combating banditry, kidnapping and other forms of violent crime across the country. According to him, restoring peace and public confidence will require consistent investment in security and community policing initiatives.
The ADC chieftain concluded by congratulating the rescued victims and their families, expressing hope that the successful operation would encourage stronger national efforts to protect lives and property while ensuring that those responsible for the attacks are brought to justice.
