Wike Is a Political Hurricane, Says Sule Lamido – Vows Boycott Until ‘Impostors’ Are Expelled

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is once again in the storm’s eye — and this time, it’s a tempest stirred by one of its own. Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has unleashed a barrage of criticism against Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, branding him a “disaster” and vowing to boycott all PDP meetings until what he calls a purge of impostors is complete.

Lamido’s absence from Tuesday’s PDP National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja wasn’t just a silent protest — it was a thunderclap. Speaking to journalists, the elder statesman made his position clear: Wike is not just a problem; he’s an existential threat to the party that gave him political life.

“Wike is a disaster — a product of the PDP, yet bent on destroying it. I refuse to sit at the same table with impostors. I am still loyal to the party, but I will not dignify this nonsense,” Lamido declared, fire in his tone.

The former governor didn’t hold back. He lambasted the recent sealing of the PDP national secretariat by the Federal Capital Territory Administration — an act he squarely blamed on Wike.

“To shut down the very institution that gave you political wings — that’s not just un-Nigerian, it’s a gross abuse of power. It’s morally bankrupt,” he said.

According to Lamido, Wike’s political compass is broken — lacking the cultural depth and moral direction expected in Nigerian political tradition.

But he didn’t stop with Wike. Lamido turned the heat up on the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC), accusing it of spinelessness for failing to discipline party saboteurs. He questioned why figures like Samuel Ortom, former Governor of Benue State, are still holding roles in the party despite openly endorsing President Tinubu.
