CP Mohammed Azare Highlights Security Challenges in Akwa Ibom, Seeks Greater Support

Security remains a critical concern in Akwa Ibom State, as Commissioner of Police (CP) Mohammed Azare recently identified key challenges affecting crime-fighting efforts. The CP emphasized that inadequate manpower and a shortage of operational vehicles continue to hinder the effective policing of the state.

During the visit of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) for Zone 6, Mustapha Mohammed Bala, to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, CP Azare provided insights into the current security situation in the state. He acknowledged the notable improvements since assuming office, attributing these successes to the dedication and commitment of police officers in tackling crime.

Despite these achievements, CP Azare appealed for additional support to further enhance security operations and ensure a safer environment for residents. He stressed the importance of equipping the police force with adequate resources to improve their response capabilities and sustain the fight against crime.

In response, AIG Mustapha Mohammed Bala commended the relentless efforts of the police officers in the state. He assured that the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) would extend its support to address the pressing needs of the police command, not only in Akwa Ibom but across the entire Niger Delta region.

The call for increased support highlights the need for collaborative efforts between the government, security agencies, and relevant stakeholders to reinforce law enforcement operations. Strengthening security infrastructure and providing necessary resources will go a long way in ensuring peace, stability, and the protection of lives and property in Akwa Ibom State.
